Angola
Drug trafficking is fast becoming a serious problem in Angola which is seen as a key transit zone of drugs from Latin America
Since the beginning of the year, 60 kilograms of cocaine have been seized by Angolan police at the Luanda port which is just one of the main entry points for drug traffickers.
According to Angola’s press agency, the country’s Criminal Investigation Service (CIS) has already arrested 12 people accused of drug trafficking. They include both locals and foreigners.
Reports say most of the drugs seized in the country mainly comes the Brazilian cities of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
With the intensification of controls in Europe, Africa is increasingly prized by drug traffickers who use it as their main transit point, the latest report of the United Nations Office against Drugs and Crimes says.
